Year 10 Market Day
14 Sep 2016

It was that time of year again where our Year 10 Commerce classes ran their market stalls linking with their assessment task in learning how to “Run a Business.”
After months of careful planning and preparation, our savvy Commerce students brought it all together over two days to show off their clever business skills and talents. Mr Sadsad’s class opened for trade on Wednesday, while Mrs Beckett’s class followed on Thursday and I am sure you can all agree that St Agnes was truly buzzing!
We had on offer tasty tacos and burritos, fried chicken and BBQ sticks, kebab wraps, pizzas, hot dogs and of course the very popular Halal Snack Packs. For those with a sweet tooth, you could have indulged in decadent sweets and milkshakes, as well as pancakes, brownies, jelly, soda spiders, waffles and crepes.
All groups were successful in making profit on their respective market days. At the same time they learnt valuable lessons in customer service, pricing, marketing, time management, health and safety and cooperation.
Though they were competitors it was assuring to see the respect and camaraderie by each stall as they offered each other free samples for tasting and helped assisted in the promotion of each other’s business throughout the day.
A huge thank you to the parents and caregivers who helped the Year 10 students not only with the pre-preparation, delivering of cooking and heating equipment, but also replenishing stock levels throughout the day.
We also would like to extend our thanks to all of the teachers and student helpers who assisted across the two days. Whether it was helping with crowd control, supplying music and speakers, assisting with serving or even cleaning up, your effort and support is always greatly appreciated.

He is Risen! ✝️ As our St Agnes CHS community enjoys a well-deserved break, we pause this Easter Sunday to reflect on the joy and hope of Christ’s resurrection. Easter reminds us of new beginnings, renewal, and the power of faith, even in times of rest and stillness. May this holiday be filled with peace, love, and time to reconnect with family and what matters most. Wishing all our students, families, and staff a blessed and joyful Easter. He is risen, alleluia!

On Good Friday, we remember Christ’s love shown through sacrifice. A love that calls us to stand with those who suffer, and to act with compassion and justice for all. As we reflect today, may we continue to walk together towards a more just world.

Today we remember Holy Thursday, the night of the Last Supper and the beginning of Jesus’ journey to the cross. We recall the gift of the Eucharist, where Jesus shared bread and wine and called us to love and serve one another. Jesus then went to pray in the Garden of Gethsemane. In deep anguish, He turned to the Father, surrendering to His will as His hour drew near, fulfilling the Scriptures. May we take time today to pause, pray, and stay close to Him. 🙏✨
