Notre Dame Folk Choir Performance and Workshop
23 Jun 2015
On Friday the 29th May 2015, Mr Sadsad accompanied six students on a 'Day with the Notre Dame Folk Choir' in Parramatta Cathedral with both Primary and Secondary schools in the diocese.
The Notre Dame Folk choir is a world-renowned folk choir founded by its director, Steven C Warner. Students where treated to a concert performed by the choir of sixty vocalists and instrumentalists with influences from Ireland, Russia, Asia and Africa.
Afterwards, the students attended various workshops conducted by the choir where they learnt about new liturgical music in a variety of styles, the power of singing in liturgy and how music can express and inspire young people's faith.
Our students left motivated to share what they learnt with the rest of the choir and band as we look forward to many more liturgies in our school community.

Students then explored the museumโs exhibits, deepening their understanding of the Holocaust and the importance of remembrance, empathy, and standing up against injustice.
