The importance of a good community can never be underestimated. In fact a good supportive community is the cornerstone of society. It provides the foundation for us to grow and prosper, and it gives an opportunity for us to give back to it if we so desire.
Thanks to the hard work and dedication of Ms Atkins, Mr Smith and our ELP garden club the school has been incredibly fortunate to have a herb, fruit and vegetable garden. One that, while it has taken time will now grow at great speeds thanks to the generosity of the donations from Bunnings Minchinbury. Last term Mitchell Jenkins, Joshua Kelly and Malik Baatjes accepted donations of soil, fertiliser, seedlings and garden equipment on behalf of the school.
During Thursday afternoon ELP it is a great opportunity for students to get out in the garden and participate in the growing of sustainable plants. Eventually students will be able to pick and sample some of the fruit, vegetables and herbs that are being growing in our garden or donate them to our Food Technology Department.
