Sunday, 4th March, St Agnes Catechists Micah Fernandez (10.3), Selenna Fuimaono (10.3), Kiera Everingham (10.2), Chanel Saliba (10.7) and Anella Saco (10.6) attended the Commissioning Mass for Catechists at St Aidan’s Parish Rooty Hill.
Venus Sta Ana, the SRE Parish Coordinator was delighted to share this celebration with our student catechists as she said, “they have added flavour to the Mass”. Fr Alan Layt was very happy to see our students step out of their comfort zone and to say ‘Yes’ to this ministry.
The St Agnes Catechists began observing their classes at Eastern Creek Public School this week and are committed every Tuesday morning until the end of Term 3. The enthusiasm of these students to meet the children in their classes is wonderful to witness the joy of sharing Jesus’ story in our community. We wish the students every success for a fulfilling experience.

After a trip to Darling Harbour and The Gallery at ICC Sydney, they met Navy experts — from chefs to engineers and submariners. A landing craft then took them to HMAS Canberra, where they toured the ship, tested fire hoses, signalled with flags, and experienced life on board.
