Bin it and help our environment
27 Mar 2018

Our Environmental Portfolio Leadership Team established a new initiative that will benefit the school and its environment called "Bin it to Win it".
It makes use of the NSW state, Return and Earn scheme by recycling cans and bottles, keeping them out of our environment.
To make it a bit of fun students are required to place their cans or bottles into a designated 'house' bin. For each bottle and can that is placed into the student’s house group bin, one point goes towards the points tally for his or her house group. These points contribute to the potential house group victory at the end of the year. The victory rewards the winning house group with a free trip to Wet‘ n’ Wild.
As for the school, not only does it clean up the playground and classroom, it also helps fund the school. For every can or bottle that is deposited at a collection site, 10 cents is refunded to the school.
St Agnes will use the money to further develop the school in its environment and education, in ways such as implementing new shaded areas for students to relax and spend time in during break times, and it could now also be used towards establishing the newly introduced senior years (Years 11 and 12).
You are welcome to bring your empty bottles to school and dispose of them into our designated yellow bin in the school carpark.

He is Risen! ✝️ As our St Agnes CHS community enjoys a well-deserved break, we pause this Easter Sunday to reflect on the joy and hope of Christ’s resurrection. Easter reminds us of new beginnings, renewal, and the power of faith, even in times of rest and stillness. May this holiday be filled with peace, love, and time to reconnect with family and what matters most. Wishing all our students, families, and staff a blessed and joyful Easter. He is risen, alleluia!

On Good Friday, we remember Christ’s love shown through sacrifice. A love that calls us to stand with those who suffer, and to act with compassion and justice for all. As we reflect today, may we continue to walk together towards a more just world.

Today we remember Holy Thursday, the night of the Last Supper and the beginning of Jesus’ journey to the cross. We recall the gift of the Eucharist, where Jesus shared bread and wine and called us to love and serve one another. Jesus then went to pray in the Garden of Gethsemane. In deep anguish, He turned to the Father, surrendering to His will as His hour drew near, fulfilling the Scriptures. May we take time today to pause, pray, and stay close to Him. 🙏✨
