Elective Art Biennale Excursion
19 May 2014

On the 5 May 2014, the Elective Art and selected Elective Photography students visited Cockatoo Island to attend the 19th Biennale of Sydney.
The artists in the exhibition worked with the rustic, erstwhile warehouses to create breathtaking pieces. Each piece was tailored to the area and gave the audience a new way to experience art.
Artists like Ross Manning, Ignas Krunglevicius, Mikala Dwyer and Callum Morton displayed their individuality through installation art.
Below are some quotes from students who attended:
“Krunglevicius created such an intriguing installation. He took a police transcript of a murder investigation and turned it into art. He gave interrogation a new name and meaning.”
Dana Price
“The Google GhostTrain at the Biennale was an unexpected train ride. Artist Callum Morton used various sounds and effects from the start till end. His creation takes the audience into a different world where everything feels real. The extraordinary artwork is more than just looking at what’s on the outside and shows how one can feel when experiencing an artwork. This makes people think beyond their expectations and look beyond their imaginations.”
Sucharitha Kothapally
“Cockatoo island was a beautiful place to exhibit equally beautiful artworks.”

He is Risen! ✝️ As our St Agnes CHS community enjoys a well-deserved break, we pause this Easter Sunday to reflect on the joy and hope of Christ’s resurrection. Easter reminds us of new beginnings, renewal, and the power of faith, even in times of rest and stillness. May this holiday be filled with peace, love, and time to reconnect with family and what matters most. Wishing all our students, families, and staff a blessed and joyful Easter. He is risen, alleluia!

On Good Friday, we remember Christ’s love shown through sacrifice. A love that calls us to stand with those who suffer, and to act with compassion and justice for all. As we reflect today, may we continue to walk together towards a more just world.

Today we remember Holy Thursday, the night of the Last Supper and the beginning of Jesus’ journey to the cross. We recall the gift of the Eucharist, where Jesus shared bread and wine and called us to love and serve one another. Jesus then went to pray in the Garden of Gethsemane. In deep anguish, He turned to the Father, surrendering to His will as His hour drew near, fulfilling the Scriptures. May we take time today to pause, pray, and stay close to Him. 🙏✨
