On Saturday 6th June, 2015 the St Agnes Dance Crew competed in a Hip Hop Dance Competition at the Homebush State Sports Centre.
Students had been preparing and practising their moves since the beginning of the year in preparation for this performance. As part of the 'Bring it On' competition, teams had to perform a 5 minute (maximum) Hip Hop dance and were judged on the originality of the music, their costumes & presentation, the difficulty of their choreography, their synchronisation, the X factor and creativity of the performance. The competition was a 2 heat event with 9 teams in each heat.
The judges chose 3 teams, and the audience chose 3 teams as 'wild cards', to progress to the grand finals. St Agnes’ team consisted of 27 dancers, led by Miss Ibrahim, and were chosen by the audience to compete in the grand finals on the 1st August 2015.
The girls were proud to represent St Agnes at this event and are very excited to prepare for the grand final event.

Tomorrow, 28th August, our school will be holding a ππ₯π¨ππ‘π’π§π ππ«π’π―π led by our FIAT and Mini Vinnies students, in partnership with St Vincent de Paul (Vinnies), to support people experiencing π‘π¨π¦ππ₯ππ¬π¬π§ππ¬π¬ in our community. Homelessness is a growing issue in Australia, affecting thousands of individuals and families each night. Vinnies works tirelessly to provide practical assistance, dignity, and hope to those most in need β and we can play our part. We are asking each student to bring in clean, good-quality clothing donations to their homeroom. A nominated student from each class will then deliver the donations to the designated collection point in the office. Your generosity will help keep someone warm this winter and remind them they are not forgotten. A big thank you to our FIAT and Mini Vinnies students for leading this important initiative. Together, letβs live out our mission of faith in action and make a real difference.

πβ¨ Studies of Religion HSC Revision Day β¨π On July 4th, our Year 12 and Accelerated Studies of Religion students took part in a valuable HSC preparation and revision day at Parramatta Marist High School. The day focused on building key exam skills, including: βοΈ Writing extended responses π Analysing source material π Structured revision activities Students gained expert guidance, practical strategies, and a boost of confidence as they prepare for their upcoming Final Exams. On Friday, 5 students from years 9 & 10 kicked off Book Week early by attending the Children's Book Council of Australia's Book of the Year Awards at the State Library! These students have been participating in the CBCA's Shadow Judging program, where they read and critique the 6 shortlisted books in the same way the adult judges select the official winner. Around 400 groups of students across Australia participated this year, and our students voted in the older ready category. Their choice was I'm Not Really Here by Gary Lonseborough, closely followed by Birdy by Sharon Kernot. All shortlisted books are on display in our library, and ready to borrow. Asides from attending the ceremony, students also had an opportunity to visit the library's Shakespeare Room, the famous Mitchell Reading Room, and take a wander through one of the library's exhibitions

Yesterday, our Inter Boys Football team gave it their all in the semi-final against Penola.
