NSWCCC Athletics Carnival

St Agnes Rooty Hill

The NSWCCC Athletics Carnival was held at Homebush Olympic Park on Friday the 15th September 2017. This year St Agnes had three students that represented the Parramatta Diocese at this event; Dwayne Tukala (yr7), Veronica Dimo (yr8) and Brooke Martin (yr8).

Dwayne competed in the 12 years boys Shot Put where he placed 2nd overall. Dwayne threw an amazing 9.87metres.

Veronica competed in the 14 years girls 100m, 200m and the 4 x 100m Relay. Veronica finished 1st in the 200m where she got a new personal best of 26.03, 3rd in the 100m in a time of 13.16 and her team finished 4th in the 4 x 100m relay. Veronica will now go on to compete in the NSW All Schools completion in October at Homebush Olympic Park.

Brooke Martin competed in the 12 - 14 years girls 1500m walk where she placed 5th overall, in a time of 8min 31sec. Brooke will also go on to represent NSW CCC at the NSW All Schools in the under 14’s 3km walk.

Congratulations to these three young athletes, this is a huge achievement that they should be incredibly proud of. We wish them all the luck in the NSW All Schools competition where they will go on to compete against students from every high school in the state.
