The food tech practical assessment can be described as something that most assessments fail to be: "fun".

During week 7 and 8, students in the four elective food tech classes presented an assortment of themed cupcakes for their term 3 practical assessment. Each student was required to design and prepare 6 cupcakes based on a theme of their choice.

Before the exam, Mrs Vincent and Ms Roberts gave their respective classes a demonstration on cupcakes to assure that we knew how to make the 'canvases' for our decoration.

On the day of our assessment, we had 90 minutes to create and decorate cupcakes. By the end of the lesson, the kitchen was filled with cupcake Cookie Monsters, flowers, superheroes and minions, as well as cupcakes designed for occasions such as Valentine's Day and Christmas.

The cupcake presentations are truly a reflection of our ability to turn our ideas into yummy and appealing cupcakes.
